GEW, Inc., the US subsidiary of the British UV systems manufacturer GEW (EC) Limited, recently installed a UV-curing system that consisted of a NUVA2 high-efficiency lamphead, which offers one lamp to cover a working width of 63".

The lamphead was installed on a 25-year-old Windmöller & Hölscher Olympia 1478 Flexo printing press at an Ohio-based packaging manufacturer, where press operators reported that the NUVA2 combined with the dedicated power supply immediately provided an 87 percent reduction in electricity consumption while simultaneously increasing speed. Collateral advantages of the new system include faster start-up, shorter shutdown and reduced maintenance time, resulting in improved production efficiency and reduced labor waste.
