RadTech Announces New UV LED 2015 Conference

UV+EB Technology

RadTech International North America, Bethesda, Maryland, will be hosting a new conference targeting the emergence of UV LEDs and UV LED-curing technology used with advanced materials. In partnership with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, UV LED 2015 will take place Oct. 28-29 in Troy, New York. The conference will include a full day of presentations, an exhibition, a reception and a tour of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Smart Lighting Engineering Research Center.

"UV LED curing is attracting significant interest in applications such as 3D printing, aerospace, inkjet, automotive, printing and packaging, wood finishing and pipe and tube," said Peter Weissman, Quaker Chemical Corp., and board president of RadTech International North America. "RadTech and NYSERDA both recognize the tremendous potential of UV LEDs, as well as the benefits of advancing this leading edge, enabling technology."

NYSERDA supports RadTech's efforts in advancing the innovative and energy-saving UV LED technology and in recognizing the important developments happening in the state. "Gov. Cuomo's Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) promotes the use of many innovative methods to reduce the use of energy in New York state," said John B. Rhodes, president and CEO, NYSERDA. "RadTech's events have proven to be a valuable forum for the promotion of the tremendous energy savings potential of UV and EB technologies. These efforts will help major industries reduce the amount of power needed for manufacturing, which will help in the state's efforts to create a clean, resilient and affordable electric grid."

RadTech also partners with the Ultraviolet Light and Electron Beam Process Curing Systems Technology Center on the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry campus in Syracuse, New York. The RadTech/SUNY partnership provides research, development and industrial testing to help make manufacturing processes in NY more energy efficient, environmentally friendly and economical.
