Spartanburg, South Carolina-based Milliken & Company, a diversified manufacturer with extensive materials science expertise, has formally acquired Borchers Group Limited, Westlake, Ohio, a specialty chemicals company known for high-performance coating additives and specialty catalyst solutions, from New York-based private equity firm The Jordan Company, L.P. The transaction officially closed Jan. 28, 2020.
As Borchers integrates into Milliken, daily operations will continue without interruption. Borchers carries a portfolio of additives for the coatings, inks and adhesives markets with a range of cobalt-free driers, dispersants, rheology modifiers, wetting agents, polymerization catalysts and adhesion promoters.
