SUMMARY:DELO How to reduce your costs and carbon emissions with adhesives
DESCRIPTION:DELO\, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of industrial adhesives for the automotive\, consumer electronics and semiconductor industries\, is set to host another round of its industry webinar series TECH TALKS. This year’s series will cover both familiar and new\, thought-provoking topics\, ranging from basic education to insights into new bonding technologies. \nIn manufacturing\, there are many equally important factors\, including output\, quality\, and sustainability. However\, none of these things can be achieved without profitability. This is especially true in bonding verticals. Achieving each of these factors requires a deep understanding of the bonding process\, from basic knowledge to emerging innovations. Experts at the DELO Academy can help provide this understanding in this year’s series of webinars. \nTECH TALKS 2023 includes discussions on various topics\, from rudimentary facts about bonding technology to new features being introduced in dispensing systems. Through these discussions\, DELO hopes to ignite conversation about how to shape the future of manufacturing through bonding.

SUMMARY:BIG IDEAS Webinar Series: Surface Printed\, Energy Cured Biodegradable Flexible Packaging - What’s Needed to Make This a Reality
DESCRIPTION:Over the past decade or so\, a growing number of biodegradable polymers have gone from academic research studies to commercial applications. Commercial scale production of these resins is continuing to grow at a staggering rate. Flexible packaging is one of the target applications for these new materials and there are multiple development programs going on globally with film manufacturers and converters. One gap that needs to be addressed is the surface printing and overprint coatings that are needed for these applications. These materials must also be compliant with the composting certification standards that exist today. This webinar will discuss the flexible packaging requirements for a compostable film and the process used to gain third party certification from BPI or TUV.

SUMMARY:Unlocking the Benefits of Structural Color with UV Curable Inks and Coatings Based on Novel Brush Block Copolymer Technology Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Please plan to join this special webinar unlocking the benefits of structural color with UV curable inks and coatings based on novel brush block copolymer technology on November 15\, 2023 at 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM EST. \nWebinar Overview: Structural color is a unique phenomenon that doesn’t rely on pigments or dyes to impart coloration to a surface. It emerges from the interaction of light with the physical structure of an object containing microscopic repeating layers or patterns. This phenomenon is naturally occurring with many biological and geological examples.  An emerging approach pioneered by Cypris Materials to create structural color uses the natural phenomenon of self-assembly and an architecturally unique copolymer formulated as an UV curable ink or paint to create coatings with the requisite multi-layer structure. \nJoin the webinar to learn more about the benefits of this bio-inspired technology which include reduced carbon footprint by eliminating the need for traditional colorants\, a recycle friendly metal free design\, a full palette of highly chromatic colors based on common raw materials and the potential to achieve special effects in digital printing. \nSpeaker: Ryan Pearson\, CEO\, Cypris Materials\, Inc. \nRegister for this webinar at:\nhttps://radtech.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=83d3a9670791311154f15cd20&id=2d911ea6f0&e=c9b0bea849

SUMMARY:Road to RadTech 2024 Webinar: Automated\, High Throughput Screening of Increased Ionic Conductivity Polymer Electrolytes
DESCRIPTION:January 19\, 2024\, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM EST\nSpeaker: Dr. Johanna J. Schwartz\, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory\nModerator: Dr. Jason Killgore\, National Institute of Standards and Technology \nREGISTER NOW at:\nhttps://radtech.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=83d3a9670791311154f15cd20&id=e160169d87&e=c9b0bea849 \nWebinar Overview\nAdvancement of increased ionic conductivity polymer electrolyte materials for Li-ion battery applications has traditionally required formulations to be hand-mixed by researchers\, limiting progress and adding potential batch-to-batch variability. Through our Studying-Polymers-On a-Chip (SPOC) platform\, we seek to solve the challenge of developing safe\, stable\, and cost effective batteries. We do so by accelerating screening of polymer electrolyte materials through integration of additive manufacturing\, impedance characterization\, and machine learning experimental planning systems. Various monomers\, salts\, and nanoparticle fillers were screened to modify the amorphous character in semicrystalline polyethylene glycol-based polymer electrolytes. Ultimately\, long-term cycling\, aging\, and stability measurements need to be made for identified polymer electrolytes to be useful for battery applications. The end of the talk will discuss some of our ongoing SPOC platform developments to create and couple high-throughput aging and degradation assessments into our screening platform.

SUMMARY:RadTech - Photopolymerizations for Creating Engineered Microenvironments: From 3D Culture Models to Biomanufacturing Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Dr. April M. Kloxin\, University of Delaware\nModerator: Dr. Dianne Poster\, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)\nFebruary 13\, 2024\, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM EST \nREGISTER NOW\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_8uzy37okTc6A74HunqEjgg \nWebinar Overview:\nPhotopolymerizations provide great opportunities for the creation of controlled\, bioinspired microenvironments for probing and directing complex biological systems. For example\, photopolymerizations can be utilized to create reductionist synthetic extracellular matrices (ECMs) with tunable biophysical and biochemical properties for asking questions about the role of different microenvironment cues in tissue regeneration and disease processes or for promoting desired cellular functions for therapeutic applications. In this arena\, we recently have designed well-defined photopolymerized hydrogels inspired by common sites in the human body (e.g.\, bone marrow\, lungs) for the late recurrence of breast cancer. We have applied these photopolymerized 3D cultures\, along with a range of molecular tools\, to dissect different cell-matrix and cell-cell interactions in breast cancer dormancy and re-activation and evaluate therapeutic strategies for preventing late recurrence. Additionally\, for enhancing the production of cell therapies\, we collaboratively have established a modular manufacturing platform that combines photopolymerized hydrogel coatings with commercial flow-based membrane devices for improved activation\, expansion\, and transduction of human T-cells. Together\, our results demonstrate the great utility of photopolymerizations for the creation of soft biomaterials with precisely controlled properties for addressing outstanding needs in improving human health.
