Press release submitted on behalf of Gighertz-Optik.
Gigahertz-Optik, Amesbury, Massachusetts, a world class manufacturer of innovative UV-VIS-NIR optical radiation measurement instrumentation, developed a Class L Photometric Detector, VL-3708, for improved illuminance measurements, specified as quality class L DIN-5032 part 7 for f1′ and class A DIN-5032 part 7 for f2. It is identical to the VL-3701 Photopic Detector in all other parameters.
The detector can be used in combination with any Gigahertz-Optik filter radiometer/photometer or amplifier. For the widest dynamic range, the P-21 Meter is recommended. Adaptation of the detector to work with existing radiometers should be discussed with the factory.
Other key advantages of this filter photometer approach is its low-end sensitivity of 0.5 nA/lx making it suitable for low level light measurements down to 2 mlx.
Another is its fast response time of 2 µs enabling pulsed light measurement possibilities.
