Save the Date for the RadTech UV+EB Technology Expo and Conference

The RadTech 2027 UV+EB Technology Expo & Conference will take place June 1-4, 2027, at the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. RadTech 2027 once again will bring together the global community advancing UV and EB technology, with a deep focus on the chemistry, formulations and products that make this industry possible.

The theme – “Bring your challenge. Find your solution.” – emphasizes collaboration between UV/EB material formulators and end users to solve real-world problems. The program will highlight new applications, materials and technical advances that help move innovations into production across industries such as coatings, packaging, electronics, additive manufacturing and medical devices.

A new focus for 2027 includes case study presentations that detail challenges, approaches, successes and lessons learned – including failures. There also will be a special spotlight on photoinitiator technology, particularly next-generation, low-migration, polymeric and regulatory-ready chemistries.

Lipscomb Appointed as Co-Chair of Environmental, Health and Safety Committee

Rebecca Lipscomb has been appointed as the new co-chair of RadTech’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Committee. Lipscomb, who serves as the vice president of Global Regulatory Affairs at INX International Ink Co., will lead the committee alongside current Chair Michael Gould, technical key account manager at RAHN USA and immediate past president of RadTech. Lipscomb brings nearly 15 years of expertise in global chemical compliance, environmental health and food packaging regulations to her new leadership role. The RadTech EHS Committee oversees the group’s regulatory, health and safety activities. The committee proactively monitors, addresses and educates members on global chemical compliance, local and federal agency initiatives, and workplace safety standards. NIST Publishes Photopolymer Additive Manufacturing 2025 Workshop Report

RadTech announced that the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) has published the Photopolymer Additive Manufacturing 2025 Workshop Report: Building a Unified Vision from Research to Regulation (NIST AMS 100-78). The report captures the outcomes of the third biannual Photopolymer Additive Manufacturing Alliance (PAMA) Workshop, held at the University of Colorado Boulder in September 2025. Leaders from industry, national laboratories, academia, standards organizations and startups came together to assess the current state and future trajectory of photopolymer additive manufacturing (PAM).

The workshop’s four panels explored the state of the field, novel materials and metrology, safety and standards, and the emerging frontier of volumetric additive manufacturing – with a central theme that PAM is transitioning toward a manufacturing-driven ecosystem where reliability, safety, regulatory readiness and data transparency increasingly are critical.

Seven strategic priorities emerged, spanning materials evolution, regulatory readiness, AI-enabled discovery, standards and metrology, hardware-materials co-design, application-driven commercialization, and cross-sector collaboration. Event Recap: Utah Polymer Research Symposium at Brigham Young University

On May 27, 2026, with generous support from RadTech, the Utah Chapter of POLY/PMSE hosted its annual Utah Polymer Research Symposium at Brigham Young University. The event brought together 65 students, faculty members and industry professionals from both the University of Utah and Brigham Young University to showcase advancements in polymer science and engineering.

The symposium provided students with opportunities to present their research and build connections with peers across universities and industry. Throughout the day, attendees participated in oral presentations and poster sessions, discussing topics ranging from advanced manufacturing of silicone elastomers to bioinspired polymers and flexible electronics.

POLY/PMSE (Polymeric Materials: Science and Engineering) is a division of the American Chemical Society dedicated to building a community for polymer scientists from an undergraduate to post-doctoral level. Beyond the annual research symposium, the Utah POLY/PMSE Chapter has given students opportunities to participate in research seminars, professional development events, industry visits and community-building activities throughout the academic year.

One of the most valuable outcomes of this year’s symposium was the opportunity for students to engage with fellow scientists, exchange ideas and learn about research extending beyond their own labs and areas of expertise. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in order to continue advancing the polymer field.

Building on the success of this year’s symposium, the Utah POLY/PMSE Chapter plans to continue growing its membership and certainly will continue holding its annual symposium. The group is incredibly grateful for RadTech’s support and commitment to fostering student engagement in polymer science and engineering.
