RadTech International North America has joined the US Plastics Pact, a collaborative, solutions-driven initiative intended to drive significant systems change to create a path forward toward a circular economy for plastics in the United States by 2025. The first North American Pact of its kind, the US Pact is a collaboration led by The Recycling Partnership, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
In recognition of the imperative to realize a circular economy for plastics, the pact is convening more than 80 brands, retailers, NGOs and government agencies to bring one voice to US packaging through coordinated initiatives and innovative solutions for rethinking products, packaging and business models.
The US Plastics Pact looks to define problematic or unnecessary packaging, working towards the increased use of reusable, recyclable or compostable materials by 2025.
The first task of the members of the pact will be to establish a roadmap in 2021 to identify key milestones and national solutions to achieving the US targets and realize a circular economy in which plastic never becomes waste.
