Gigahertz-Optik, Amesbury, Massachusetts, introduced a new UV spectroradiometer, the CSS-45-UV, a compact and cost-effective spectral UV sensor for conventional lighting, UV LEDs and other UV sources. From UV LED measurement to industrial UV monitoring, the CSS-45-UV is designed to meet diverse application needs with its precise measurements, robust design and versatile integration capabilities.
Some UV LED measurement applications require the UV sensor to be installed within a measurement system or operated remotely, and industrial applications often require integration with PLC systems. With continuous and remote operation, light measurement sensors need to be robust. The compact CSS-45-UV covers a wavelength range from 200 nm to 440 nm. Individual wavelength and linearity correction guarantee precise measurements of UV LEDs providing users with confidence in the precision and reliability of their measurements.
Features include the following:
- Bandwidth Correction: Mathematical bandwidth correction in accordance with CIE 214 for accurate colorimetric measurements.
- Electromechanical Shutter: Enables remote-controlled dark adjustment, ensuring temperature-independent and long-term stable operation.
- Cosine Diffuser: Precise cosine adjustment (f2 ≤ 1.5%) for irradiance measurements of extended UV sources.
- Compact Housing: Compact metal housing with M6 threaded hole and V-groove around the device for universal attachment of the CSS-45-UV, meeting IP62 protection standards. IP65 rated protection requires a sensor variant with a quartz dome.
The CSS-45-UV features both RS-485 and USB interfaces for remote operation. The RS-485 interface allows for long supply lines and multiple sensor operations making it ideal for system compatibility. Additionally, as an option, a software development kit (SDK) is available for simplified software integration into user written software for immediate application.
Independently usable as a detector head, the CSS-45-UV can also be combined with the CSS-D control unit, transforming it into a handheld light meter.
