DPI Laboratory Launches the Catalyst Printing Platform™ and Expands the Catalyst Printer Line with the Nexus

DPI Laboratory, St. Petersburg, Florida, a digital print innovation company specializing in UV printing systems, high-performance inks and coatings, color management and workflow optimization, announced the launch of the Catalyst Printing Platform™, a structured UV production architecture built to bring discipline, uptime and long-term scalability to modern manufacturing environments. Alongside the platform, the company introduced the Catalyst Nexus, a modular UV printer developed for larger-format and higher-output production.

The Catalyst Printing Platform represents a strategic shift from standalone equipment toward structured production systems. Developed using principles of systems thinking and design thinking, the platform integrates UV hardware, continuous bulk ink delivery, color management, specialty coatings and workflow software into a unified manufacturing environment.

“Our industry has spent years debating features,” said Lon Riley, founder of DPI Laboratory. “But production doesn’t fail because of features. It fails because systems break down. We built the Catalyst Platform to create structure around reliability and workflow discipline, because growth only happens when production is stable.”

The Catalyst Printing Platform includes three high-performing UV systems: the Catalyst Nanos for businesses entering production, the Catalyst Aventra for sustained throughput and reliability, and the Catalyst Nexus for larger-format and higher-volume expansion. All three operate within a unified architecture built for predictable performance and scalable growth.

The new Catalyst Nexus is a modular UV production system featuring a large-format printable area, multiple Epson print heads supporting expanded color configurations and a detachable gantry system. It is engineered for scalable production environments and operates within the Catalyst Platform’s integrated ink delivery and workflow architecture.

Recognized across the industry for innovation in UV printer technology and workflow design, Riley recently spoke on the Innovation Panel at the APA Conference in Las Vegas. DPI Laboratory also exhibited at the event, where attendees experienced the technology in real time. Visitors were able to send print jobs directly from their phones and watch items produced live, demonstrating the efficiency of the Catalyst Printing Platform™ and the power of a structured UV production workflow.
