The Metro New York Printing Ink Association (MNYPIA) announces that David Biro, Ph.D. has been named the new President replacing Dan Shevkun who has retired.
David is currently the Director, Narrow Web and Sheet Fed Technology, of Sun Chemical based in Carlstadt, NJ. A technical professional who directs a team of chemists and scientists to develop new ink, coatings, and adhesive products through project management. Innovation is the result of understanding the customer’s needs and transforming them into viable commercial solutions. Narrow Web and Sheet Fed Printing inks, coatings and adhesives are David’s focus. His experience extends from graphic arts, coatings, UV/EB inks, coatings & adhesives, hygiene and preservation solutions. This includes formulations for the paint, coatings, and protection markets. The technologies are used in plastics, metal working, inks, coatings, adhesives, wood protection, corrosion inhibition and surfactant chemistry. David is active in ACS, ASTM, RadTech NA International, TAGA and NAPIM / NPIRI.
Dan Shevkun who recently retired from Superior Printing Ink, states “It is such an honor to have David replace me as the head of the MNYPIA . He not only brings a wealth of ink knowledge to the position, he also has a vast track record of commitment to a number of organizations in our industry.”
About the MNYPIA
The Metro New York Printing Ink Association is the largest regional trade association in the Metropolitan New York area devoted to promoting the welfare of the printing ink industry.
The MNYPIA was founded in 2001when the NYPIMA (New York Printing Ink Manufacturers Association) & the NYPIPC (New York Printing Ink Production Club) merged.
